Building a successful business requires more than a great idea. Across Southern Libya, many entrepreneurs have the ambition to grow their businesses but lack access to practical business skills that support long-term success. The first Entrepreneurship Training Program under the "Wafa for Fazzan" Project was designed to bridge this gap by equipping small business owners with hands-on knowledge in financial management, digital marketing, and human resource management.
Fifty entrepreneurs and small business owners from Southern Libya enrolled in the first training cycle under the "Wafa for Fazzan" Project. Over the course of 20 training days, Frontier Libya delivered an intensive, hands-on program built around practical skill development rather than theoretical lectures.
The program covered three core areas: basic and advanced financial management, digital marketing, and human resource management. These represent some of the most common skill gaps among small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) owners in the region. What was missing were the practical tools needed to manage and grow their businesses effectively.
Beyond strengthening business skills, the program also reflected the diversity of Southern Libya’s entrepreneurial landscape. The training was not limited to a single sector. It brought together businesses operating in food production, handmade crafts, agriculture, and catering services, reflecting commitment to supporting businesses aligned with local market demand and Fezzan’s cultural heritage.
Program Key Results:
- Program completion rate: 100%
- Female participation: 45% of total trainees
- Geographic representation from multiple municipalities across Southern Libya
- Measurable improvement in participant competencies across all 3 areas, based on pre- and post-training assessments
Participants who completed the program are now eligible to enter the evaluation and selection phase for financial grants, the next step in the "Wafa for Fazzan" Project.
